=Food Hunt= Penang - Hing Kee Restaurant @ Lebuh China

When you are in George Town, besides heritage buildings, the nostalgic taste bud is something you should be looking for, especially this Hing Kee Restaurant. Since 1907 they started selling Cantonese food, and their business survive for five generations, their high standards of home cooking never fail to amaze the food hunters.

Even their receipt is still handwritten.

Egg Omelette with Bitter Gourd Small RM6 Medium RM8 Large RM10

I like Egg and Bitter Gourd because of its bittersweet, and you can expect the exact taste as you remember back home here.

Pork Slice With Shrimp Paste Small RM12 Medium RM15 Large RM20

When ordering this dish, we thought it is the famous Cincalok pork, but it turned out to be something even more exciting. According to the owner, this is Hong Kong style shrimp paste, where you get the taste of saltiness, but not overwhelming, just nice to eat with rice.

Bean Sprouts with Salted Fish Small RM8 Medium RM12 Large RM15

The most common dish around, but I don’t fancy the salted fish, not powerful enough.

Deep Fried Black Promfret With Ginger and Garlic Market price

Honestly, this is not the best Promfret in town, if you even try the deep fried Promfret in the Malay stalls, you will know what I mean, so I will skip this in the future.

Old Cucumber Soup with Pork Ribs Small RM6 Medium RM10 Large RM12

Nice soup, if you like the sweetness from the old cucumber and pork.
