While there are so many boutique hotels in town, there is one particular hotel that insist of doing strictly the Penang way, so that visitor to the hotel can truly enjoy a nostalgic one night in Penang.
Palm Mansion is made of several shoplots turned hotel since began operation last December. With the intention to maintain the old facade of Penang, not much change has been done to the outward appearance. However, when you enter the hotel, it almost like walking into a portal leading you to the completely difference world.
The hotel lobby looks like a restaurant, but don’t worry; you are on the right way.
By walking up this stairway, you are like walking into a portal, what you see and feel inside does not correspond to the outward facade.
Palm Mansion only has 7 rooms, but they are more like 7 houses.
Every room has a different design and unique furnishing, even the arrangement at the outside of the room are unique.
No room card here, but a big lock to secure your room.
Inside the room, you need to secure the room with the wooden bar.
All the rooms are loft design.
Every room is arranged differently, they can either have the bedroom on the upper or lower floor, or having both floor with bedroom. The single bedroom will comes attached with either a living room or a reading room, The price range are from RM200 to RM300 during peak and off peak season.

On the left: A ladder to reach the upper floor and next to it is the place where you hang your clothes. There is no closet in the room. Upper right: Even the cup in Old Penang Style. Bottom right: This charcoal is not meant for decoration but to absorb the moisture in the room.
Due to restriction of the piping system in the old shoplot, the bathroom design is a bit small, but you get what you need.
Outside the room, you get a private garden.
In the room, you can get open the window to enjoy the old town view.
Breakfast is bundle with Street Art Café, so it will only serve from 9am, you have a list of choices for drinks and set breakfasts, even a nice cup a hot chocolate is on the house.
