Stuffed crab is very common, but have you tried a stuffed abalone? Gibson accompanied a friend for dinner, and drove all the way to auto city to dine in Shelaiton Restaurant. Many of those who came here before are well aware that the price list in this restaurant are way above average, this is because you pay for quality ingredients. However, their biggest attraction is their innovative menu.
This is a family run restaurant with their own unique philosophy. For instance, when they serve abalone, rest assured that you get the highest quality abalone prepared under the highest standard, “This is what abalone is supposed to be, you do not turn something rare and special into something common and bland.” The owner emphasize on their “foodilosophy”.
Crunchy Conch in abalone shell is made of crab meat, water chestnut, gingko, conch and little abalone. Every bite full of flavors and it costs you RM25 a piece.
It’s like a treasure hunt, here you are, my little abalone.
Shelaiton is well-known for serving good abalone. However, for an ordinary night without any particular occasion for celebration, we cant just dive into the pond of exquisite and order the abalone. So the stuffed abalone was sufficient, but I did not stop there. I had mistaken the conch for the abalone, and wondered why these pieces of “abalone” can be so rich in flavor. The owner made the correction, silly me.
After making the mistake with the conch, I had committed another unforgivable “crime” by mistaking the coconut flesh for squid. Oh dear. But this is also an indication on how good they are.
Fried rice noodle with seafood, a simple yet delicious dish. The rice noodle was not sticky at all. Just loving it.
Blend the lychee and coconut flesh with ice, then mix with the fresh coconut juice, so refreshing.
I almost forget about the appetizer, black fungus marinated with vinegar. Crunchiness and sourness with a touch of parsley.
