=Penang= Delicious Cake @ Hotel Jen Penang

Today’s recommendations are some cakes sold at a hotel lounge. Judging by its look and price, Gibson was not really interested. But since it was highly recommendation by a food connoisseur, he decided to give it a try. And guess what?! It was the best cheese cake in town. So, we shouldn’t judge the book by its cover.

Hotel Jen that is located next to Komtar has about 20 variety of pastries, but the food connoisseur insisted that Gibson give cheese cake a try, so Gibson bought a small piece of baked cheese cake, a 1.2kg of Toffee Mascarpone Cheese Cake and a 1.5kg Monte Cristo, of which none disappointed him.

Taste can be quite subjective, but you able to tell if the cake is made from quality ingredients or not, which determines the richness in flavor.

Baked Cheese RM11

You are able to buy different flavored cakes in this size, but on first come first serve basis. Different flavors are offered at different days of the week besides the usual day to day flavor. Although Gibson finds it quite expensive, but he was told that many other cafés are selling at an even higher price, yet lacking the excellent quality of hotel Jen.

Toffee Mascarpone Cheese Cake RM130

Toffee Mascarpone Cheese Cake is much sweeter than the baked cheese cake. But not as sweet as the tea tarik, LOL. The toffee enhances the texture of the cake, which is a plus. However, you are not able to get it in small quantities, but you have to buy a whole cake, on top of which you have to place an order in advance.

Monte Cristo RM130

Monte Cristo is the combination of dark, white and milk chocolates. Since it is so rich in flavor, you might think you are eating pure chocolate instead of a cake. So do expect the cake to be quite hard to cut.
