=Thailand-Betong= 10 Bath happiness of Coconut Ice Cream

A cup of ice cream that consists of 6 ingredients only sells for 10 Thai Baht (about RM1.10), can only be found near a wet market in Betong, Thailand.

The ingredients are Coconut ice cream that has already been mixed with Cendol (green worm-like rice flour jelly), peanuts, nipa palm fruit (Attap Chee), evaporated milk and glutinous rice.



The Coconut ice cream is stored in the big metal pot without any cooling facility, as you can see the uncle digs deep in to scoop out the ice cream.



Each cup consists of 6 small scoops of ice cream, the uncle will put in 3 scoops of ice cream first, then add in a scoop of glutinous rice before adding in another 3 scoops of ice cream.



It is then topped up with nipa palm fruit, evaporated milk and peanuts.

This ice cream kiosk is located just outside the Betong Main Market. The ice cream man will be there from 9am (Thai time) till 12pm or until the ice cream is sold out. His rest days are Tuesdays and Thursdays.
