When it is difficult to find reasonably priced vegetarian food during the festive season of the Nine Emperor Gods, there is a restaurant by the name of “Old Street Taiwanese Delicacies” at 8row not only do the a la carte prices remain the same, their ongoing promotion set lunch, which you have a choice of 5 dishes still remains RM4.90.
Gibson likes the vegetarian braised pork rice. However, during the Nine Emperor Gods Festival, in view of the religious vegetarian observance that is no egg in this dish. The deep fried beancurd sheet is crispy while the “pork” is actually dried bean curd.
Another recommended RM4.90 dish is vegetarian mutton curry set for RM4.90, the curry paste taste good and their vegetarian mutton is actually mushrooms instead of artificial flavored flour.
The normal price of Herbs Mee Shua is RM8.80, but now promotion price is RM4.90.
On the a la carte menu, vegetarian Ba Kut Teh rice that costs RM8.80 is also a good choice that comes with mushrooms, beancurd sheet, black fungus and flour-made vegetarian meat with the nice herbal soup.
If you ask the waiter for recommendation, they will recommend this Pan Mee (RM8.80), although the soup is nice but the noodles are a bit too thick.
You can even order western food here, what about a Fish Golden (RM10.90).
Gibson also like their Amaranth cake, it may look like Ku Chai Kueh (Steamed Chives Dumplings) that costs RM6.80, but Amaranth is much sweeter, fragrant and juicy.
