This is Curry chee cheong fun, which instead of having Curry noodle you get the chee cheong fun in your curry soup. Same taste and same ingredients that includes Blood cockle, Tau Pok, pork blood and fish ball. A small bowl only cost RM3.50, a large one will cost you RM4. By the way, this curry noodle is known as Curry Laksa in Kuala Lumpur.
This Curry noodle stall was previously located at the alley next to Kimnovak shop house, although it was an open space, but many people were willing to stand in the hot blazing sun just to enjoy a bowl of this delicious noodle. However, due to the recent development nearby, they had to move into the Xin Sheng Huo coffee shop, which is situated at the same row of shop houses together with Kimnovak.
Before mixing in the chili paste, the Curry chee cheong fun soup is milky white.
Besides the Curry chee cheong fun, you can also get the original version of chee cheong fun with shrimp paste, which only cost RM2 for small plate.
If you are not into chee cheong fun, the usual Curry noodle isn’t a bad idea after all. We decided to order the RM4 big bowl.
Prior to having the Curry noodle stall, this coffee shop has an instant noodle stall that has been selling for more than 30 years. You must be wondering why bother to take all that trouble to travel here for a bowl of instant noodles when you can very well make it at home. Surprisingly the attraction lies in the secret ingredient, the pork bone soup. When combined together with the sliced pork, minced pork, fish cake and a half boiled egg; you get the best of the Cintan noodle for only RM4.
Not into instant noodle? They have Mee Sua too.
Or Kuey Teow.
Or vermicelli, if without egg only cost RM3.50.
Another humble surprise, the almond drink here is one of Gibson’s favorite, thick and milky for only RM1.50.
A set of butter toast for RM1.40.
