=Penang= Kim's Korean Restaurant @ Tavoy Road

The happy frog that is soaking in the hot green tea is something cute that you can find at Kim's Korean Restaurant at Tavoy Road, but a cup of this will costs you RM7, so it is quite pricey to be cute.

If you are looking for a good Korean BBQ and friendly service, Gibson would recommend Kim's Korean Restaurant at Tavoy Road, but the others Korean dishes that are offered here are just average but a bit pricey.

Brown Rice Green Tea (Hyunmi-nokcha) RM7
Besides the Frog holder, you will get the heart holder for the green tea as well.

They are offering 5 complimentary and refillable side dishes (Ban Chan) that changes daily.

Left -Spicy Korean-style Pork Belly (Gochujang Samgyeopsal) RM35 per person
Right -Grilled Spareribs (Dwaeji-galbi) RM35 per person
There are a few dishes in the menu that requires a minimum order for 2 persons, which includes the BBQ menu. However, you are allowed to choose different flavor or meat to fulfill this requirement. So we ordered the Spicy Korean-style Pork Belly, Grilled Spareribs and Grilled Beef Brisket (marbled beef).

Grilled Beef Brisket (Chadol-Bagi) RM49 per person

Another interesting gadget here in this restaurant is this piece of silicon underneath the big bowl. It is actually the medium in which heat is transferred from the gadget from beneath the table, so that the waiter can cook in front of us without any heat on the table. Fascinating!

Kimchi Hot Pot (Kimchi-jeongol) RM49
As described in the menu, this is a dish of broth, kimchi, pork meat, noodles, dumplings, vegetables and a variety of seasonings and spices cooked at the table in a pot. They also noted in the menu that this dish enough for 2 persons. However, we can get a better deal and taste somewhere else.

Spicy Grilled Chicken (Chuncheon Dakgalbi) RM30 person
Minimum order for 2 persons and a popular dish here which they will cook the dish right on your table. However, Gibson will not pay RM60 again to have this dish, because the taste is just average, and RM60 for a chicken???? No, thanks.

As described in the menu, Chuncheon Dakgalbi is spicy stir-fried marinated chicken with cabbage, onion, sweet potato and rice cake in a spicy red- chili sauce. It is a local specialty food for the city of Chuncheon, Korea, where Dakgalbi originates, and it is also hometown of the owner of the restaurant.

Spicy stir-fried rice cake (Tteok-bokki) RM20
Gibson like the sweetness of the dish, no complains.

Seafood and Green Onion Pancake (Haemul-pajeon) RM30
You can never go wrong if you order the Korean pancake, so this is another safe dish you can try.

Rolled Omelet with vegetable (Gyeran-mari) RM15

Kimchi Stew (Kimchi-jjigae) RM19
As described in the menu, this is a thick stew made from kimchi simmered with pork meat and tofu. Served with steamed rice.

Soft Tofu Stew ( Sundubu-jjigae) RM22
As described in the menu, this is a spicy red stew with soft tofu, seafood and egg. Served with steamed rice.

Seafood Fried rice (Haemul-bokkeumbap) RM25
