CNY recipe - Pacific West Tempura Prawn Prosperity Toss Yee Sang

If you are thinking of being creative on preparing Yee Sang for this Chinese New Year, the newly created Yee Sang recipe by Pacific West Development Chef Leong Main Choy is one of the best ideas that is inspirational. Gibson is not a fan of the traditional Yee Sang due to it's sweetness and stickiness, but he found this new menu to be kind of refreshing.

Gibson was invited to attend the Pacific West Prosperity Toss Luncheon, where he tried this Tempura Prawn Prosperity Toss Yee Sang. Although it contained no Sashimi, but the design of the Fish Yee Sang truly symbolizes prosperity. What truly matters is good tasting food without being wasteful, and we were all happy to enjoy.

At the luncheon, Pacific West prepared the Yee Sang’s ingredients for us to partake in the Yee Sang making contest.

Gibson and his friends used the Pacific West logo as their design, and they won the contest because the CEO of the company is so impressed. Not bad right!

Two chefs from Pacific West are creatively using all these products to prepare us some very good food.

Before we started our lunch, chef Garry Edson cooked us 5 canapés to warm up our tummies. However, Gibson had missed out one of the canapé. This is Hummus on Pitta Bread with Pacific West Tempura Calamari Ring.

Puff Pastry filled with Mushroom and Egg Pate served with Pacific West Wiggy Cornflake fish

Chef Leong Main Choy from Pacific West and Hakka Village served 5 dishes each for lunch, and we started with Pacific West Tempura Prawn Prosperity Toss (Yee Sang). It was perfect combination of Pacific West signature Tempura Prawns, with colourful natural ingredients comprising of pickled nutmeg, torch gingers, Mandarin orange, Pomelo, and fresh vegetables - served with a homemade dressing sauce.

Tempura Prawn coated with spicy buttered salted egg sauce sprinkle with crispy Nestum.

Kung Pao Pacific West Salt and Pepper Squids
Salt & Pepper Squid in Kung Pao style served with crispy yam ring.

Nyonya Style Pacific West Tempura Fish Cocktails
Tempura Fish Cocktail in homemade Nyonya style sauce.
