=Penang= Wine O’clock @ G Hotel Kelawai

Recently introduced by G Hotel Kelawai, at only RM55 Nett per person, you have an hour of “Wine O’clock” to enjoy free flow of 8 types of wine, while being offered with a selection of finger foods offered by 2PM Lounge, ground floor & Gravity rooftop bar perched on the 24th floor, but the hour of “Wine O’clock” cannot be shared in two premises, must fully utilise the hour in one premise before moving to another one.

Among the 8 selections, there are 3 types of white wine, 3 types of red wine and 2 types of rose wine for the Wine enthusiasts to enjoy. RM55 is only for wine, food has to be paid as ordered.



They are very particular with the wine glass too, where the wine is served with the proper glass.



We kicked start with the Whites first, as from the left are Aura Chardonnay 2014, Tocornal (Cono Sur) Sauvignon Blanc 2014, Bell’ Agio Sweet Wine.

Aura Chardonnay 2014
Country: Australia
Alcohol Content: 13%
Characteristics: Aromas of mango and tropical Fruits, a hint of ripe peach and nectarines, crisp acidity.
Food Pairing: Rich fish (salmon, tuna etc), Vegetarian, Poultry.

Tocornal (Cono Sur) Sauvignon Blanc 2014
Country: Chile
Alcohol Content: 13%
Characteristics: A light golden colour with green hues, this unique wine’s nose displays citrus aromas combined with stone fruit and slightly herbal traces, can be quite sour for the first sip, but after paired with food, it can be quite smooth.
Food Pairing: Rich fish (salmon, tuna etc), Shellfish, Vegetarian.

Bell’ Agio Sweet Wine
Country: Italy (Vino Frizzante Dolce)
Alcohol Content: 7.5%
Characteristics: Sweet white wine, perhaps sweeter than Moscato.
Food Pairing: Desserts, mild and creamy.

Duck Wrapper RM21
Smoked Duck Breast wrapped with Vegetable and special sauce, which made of maple syrup and pineapple reduction.



Dumpling RM21
Own-made dumpling filling, Gibson love this so much, as it has a tender to crisp texture, which is very good to pair with wine.



Salmon Sandwich RM15




Now with the Reds as from the Bell’ Agio Sweet Wine, Tocornal (Cono Sur) Merlot 2014 and Aura Shiraz 2013.

Bell’ Agio Sweet Wine
Country: Italy (Vino Frizzante Dolce)
Alcohol Content: 7.5%
Characteristics: Sweet red wine.
Food Pairing: Desserts, Chocolates.

Tocornal (Cono Sur) Merlot 2014
Country: Chile
Alcohol Content: 12%
Characteristics: A vivid ruby red colouring, fruity aroma such as cherry, berries and plum. It is a full bodied wine.
Food Pairing: White meats, Pasta, Pizza, Tomato rich recipe and Medium bodied Cheese.

Aura Shiraz 2013
Country: Australia
Alcohol Content: 13.5%
Characteristics: Aromas of red fruity and hints of chocolate. Rich and textural palate, silky tannins and a long linger finishing.
Food Pairing: Beef, Lamb, Spicy Food. Mature and Hard Cheese.

Open Face Slider RM33
Light Seared Beef Medallion and Foie gras accompanied with Arugula and Melted Cheese.



Lamb & Potato RM21
Grilled Lamb Sausage with Spicy Potato and Egg.



Wall to Wall RM21
Mini Chicken or Beef patty, Apricot chutney, Baby Salad and Spicy Mayonnaise.



Now we are heading up to Gravity rooftop bar perched on the 24th floor, to continue our Rose Wines, as from the left is Trapiche Rose 2014 and Arniston Bay Rose.

Trapiche Rose 2014
Country: Argentina
Alcohol Content: 13%
Characteristics: Red Berry & Strawberry, Fresh & Fruity, it is also a blend of Malbec & Cabernet Sauvignon.
Food Pairing: Fish, Salad, Slightly seasoned cuisine.

Arniston Bay Rose
Country: South Africa
Alcohol Content: 12%
Characteristics: Fresh & Fruity, Red Berry & Strawberry.
Food Pairing: Salads, open sandwiches.

Gravity Burger RM28
Brioche bun, beef or chicken Patties, Egg, Sweet Relish, Tomato, Lettuce and Fries. This is the Chicken version.



Satay Lilit Ayam RM19
Mince Chicken with Yellow spices, palm sugar on lemongrass skewer and chilli sauce.



Soft Shell Crab RM24
Crispy crab with julienne summer vegetable wrap.



Wedges RM15
Deep fried potato wedges, togarashi and parsley.



Lumpia RM19
Balinese duck spring roll. Asian vegetables, Coriander and Sweet Chilli Sauce.

You get all the idea about the wines and foods, and now let Gibson show you the atmosphere of these 2 hangout spots.



First Stop is 2PM Lounge, ground floor, which open daily from 10am till 1am, but the Wine O’clock promotion is only available from 12pm till 12am daily.



Gibson loves the spicy peanut here, and just can’t stop eating.



Heading up to the Gravity rooftop bar perched on the 24th floor, which the Wine O’clock promotion available here from 5pm till 1am.



Gibson recommends to come here before sunset, where the sky is ocean blue, then orange to red and slowly to dark.



Every Wednesday and Thursday is Ladies Night at Gravity too, from 8pm – 10pm, they welcome ladies with free flow of drinks, and will alternate weekly choice of drinks from Cope Copper a perfect mix of vodka and cranberry (as shown in the picture), Tequila Sunrise with the essence of tequila orange grenade and Mango Margarita made of tequila mango JC.
