=Penang= The Bar°n @ Gurney Plaza Penang

The famous Bar°n from Kuala Lumpur is now in Penang serving with lots of “alcohol-able” Tapas, where you can really pair the right food with the right drink, yet affordable.

The Tapas here is actually more like finger food with a local touch, that’s why you can order all sorts of “Small Plates”, even the famous SioBak (Crispy Pork Belly) that is available all day long.

Gurney Plaza recently welcomed a brand new wine restaurant, the Bar°n bar & restaurant since early April, and they officially launched on the 5th of May with great news that they are going to open a third outlet in Pavilion KL in July.

Their name Bar°n has a hidden meaning where a Bar with wine bubbles “°” then ending with an N, which means that it is more than a bar that also serves great delicious food. True enough after looking into their wines selection and the food menu, this is truly the place where you need to forget about the fats and just have fun.

At the Bar°n, they will tell you loudly that “A meal without wine is like a day without sunshine!”

Crispy Pork Belly RM29
Gibson was invited to their officially launched, and ended up having a great feast of meaty dishes, especially the Crispy Pork Belly that was really finger licking good.

Caramelized Roasted Pork Belly RM29
Not the usual salty and sweet “Dao You Bak”, but nicely caramelized with a spicy kick from bird eye chilli.

Tapas Combo Platter RM68
The platter come with Crispy pork belly, chicken wings, luncheon fries, pork satay, potato wedges and deep fried button mushrooms, if all these too much for you, there is an option to pick any 3 of the above for RM38.

Pork Satay with Asian Condiment RM29

Mexican Nachos RM29
The green looking ice cream thing in the centre is actually chilled avocado dip, the nachos with cheese are crispy to taste.

The Bar°n Mini Open-faced Sandwiches RM19
These were to Gibson’s flavour, fried quail egg topped with asparagus then mixed with hollandaise sauce mushrooms on baguette.

Pigs in Blankets RM19
Deep fried sausages covered with bacon.

Irish Pulled Pork Burger RM29
Shredded pork cooked in special sauce and bun.

BBQ Baby Back Pork Ribs RM59
Specially marinated and grilled to perfection with their special homemade bbq sauce, served with roasted potatoes & fresh vegetables. The best thing about the dish is on the presentation when serving the dish, meat on fire action is kind of fun.

The owners and VVIP were invited to pour all the wines into the giant wine glasses to mark the launch of the new outlet.
