=Penang= New Year, New Dish & New Chef for buffet dinner @ SPOON, G Hotel Kelawai Penang


A new Executive Sous Chef, Jack Yap Soon Cheong recently join the G hotel team to bring the influent of French and European cuisine to the table, while working on more fusion and canapés menu to surprise the foodie in town.

You may already noticed the change of menu for both the breakfast and cocktail session at the executive lounge, but Chef Jack won't just stop there and he will continues to bring in more fusion to the buffet menu, and possible a good "french-twist" for the buffet dinner at the SPOON.



However, some of his signature dishes already available in the buffet, such as Roasted Duck with Orange Sauce and Rocket Salad and Baked fish Fillet with Coconut Lemon Turmeric Sauce.

Let's check out the buffet menu at the SPOON, G Hotel Kelawai Penang.

From Salad bar where you can mix your own salad with a big bowl (So thoughtful!), seafood on ice to cheese section, they make sure you start your meal with a great variety of appetizers.

Then the Main dishes and soup of the day.



Carving station offers Roasted Cumin lamb Shoulder with Mint Yoghurt.



The outdoor BBQ got you covered with Satays and all sort of grilled dishes.



The live action station has a few dishes to offer, but we recommended the Char Koay Teow. However, their Penang Assam Laksa also very unique where they served you a Malay soup based with Chinese ingredients, a good way to present a Malaysian dish.



A meal is not complete if end without dessert, hence they will prepared 10 types of desserts based on ingredients that arrive fresh on the day. One of the signature is the Black rice cheese cake.



To taste Chef Jack’s cooking and his specialties, come for the buffet dinner at SPOON which is available nightly with two different themes to choose from. International theme buffet dinner will be served from Sunday to Thursday at RM75 per person while Hot Wok & Grill is avail exclusively on Fridays and Saturdays at RM105 per person.
