A small Japanese "Canteen" but well curated menu, Shokudo Niban is beautifully located inside the famous art space of Penang, which is the Hin Bus Depot.
Shokudo Niban is also a Japanese Tapas bar, but Gibson hasn't try their small plates menu, can't tell much about it, because he was so into rice menu, almost tried out most of the dishes in the menu, strongly recommend their rice dishes, most of it has the tempura bits alongside the rice, which is the magic touch, it added the crunchiness and aroma to the whole dining experience, and their matcha soup is another icing for the cake. Just loving it.
Yakitori and Skewer are also not bad, good to pair with sake.
Shokudo Niban started since December 2019, and they are small is the fact, it is better to make a reservation in advance, especially for dinner, or else you will be sorry for it. Yakitori and Skewer
