=Penang= Double Happiness Porridge @ Bao Zhou Po Claypot Porridge

Seafood Porridge is nothing new in Penang, but somehow Bao Zhou Po Claypot Porridge in Kampung Malabar offers a better way to enjoy authentic Teow Chew porridge, which they recommended their customers to mix and match the seafood in order to get the best out of the seafood. So we are talking about double the choice, double the happiness in a big clay pot. And the best part of the restaurant is that the owner who loves to cook. So we can assume that they are more sensitive to the taste.

River Prawn and Clam (Kapa) porridge, estimated price RM51
There are 15 choices of ingredients to cook with the porridge. However, Gibson Prefer the river prawns mixed with clams (kapa), simply sweet and aromatic, yet a pot for 2 people that consist of 350gram fresh water prawn and 1 set of clam that only costs about RM51.



There are 2 things you must take note. Firstly, they need about 35 minutes to cook your porridge, so be prepared to wait. Secondly, if the seafood you choose is less than RM50, you need to pay RM15 for the porridge, or else it is free. The smallest portion of the porridge is serves at least 2 persons, so better bring a companion with you.

Grouper Fish and Sea Prawn Porridge, estimated price RM72
According to the owner, Summer Shang, who originates from China, recommends their fish and prawn porridge to their first time comers, which has the mildest flavor.



Sea Prawn and Crab Porridge, estimated price RM96
If you are regular customers, they will recommend the bestseller which is the combination of sea prawn and crab.

Besides the seafood porridge, they also serve Fried Porridge, which is for those who are into strong flavor.
