=Food Hunt= Sibu Instant Kampua from Sarawak

Sibu Instant Kampua is a non-Halal instant noodle that comes all the way from Sibu, Sarawak. Gibson’s colleague brought back some of this as a gift from the trip, so he finally has got a chance to taste this East Malaysia’s popular noodle.

It is a dry instant noodle that tastes almost the same to its original version. Its noodle has a soft and sticky texture after boiling with water, so it is advisable to have a quick rinse of cold water to get a better texture.

5 packages of Sibu Instant Kampua manufactured by The Kitchen Food cost about RM7.95 if you were to buy it in Sibu, which is equivalent to RM1.59 per pack. It is also only best before 5 months from the date of manufacture. After doing some research, we discovered that we can purchase online through 11street.my instead of flying all the way to Sibu.

The noodle doesn’t look like the typical instant noodle.

Every pack of Sibu Instant Kampua contains a pack of Lard and Soya Sauce.

Gibson added Shitake mushrooms, Char Siew (Roasted Pork), spring onions and chilies which turned out quite nice, and it really tastes like a freshly cook noodles from the hawker stall.
